Who We Are
The Institute is an independent, growing scientific research and educational facility in Jefferson County, Florida, contributing information to the fields of earth science, hydrography, natural history, cultural history, anthropology and more.

Vision Statement
Our vision is the establishment of a world class scientific research institute that will be a significant contributor to the body of human knowledge in the areas of Earth Sciences and Natural History.  ARI’s commitment is to use our facilities, projects, partnerships and incredible team of researchers and associates to explore the past and present to help envision the future. We are dedicated to training future generations of scientific researchers, instilling good stewardship and good practices to protect our historic treasures and ensure a bright tomorrow.

What We do

The Institute was established to attract and promote original research in the earth sciences and natural history of the Big Bend area of Florida and to act as a center for innovative thinking and activity about these disciplines.
